The upcoming NFL Super Bowl 50 hosting City of San Francisco is having discussions with Super Bowl 50 Committee members regarding local transportation for people. The San Francisco MTA (Municipal Transportation Agency) and CAC (Community Advisory Council) members held a public meeting on Thursday regarding Super Bowl 50 transportation matters. The CAC members are urging SFMTA board members to have an agreement with NFL (National Football League) Super Bowl 50 Committee regarding local transportation. The CAC members are advising SFMTA board members to include a clause within the agreement urging NFL to pay for some local transportation needs. Some CAC advisory members are sharing their personal experience with Super Bowl activities, regarding local transportation issues to make workable for people. The City of San Francisco will close down some major streets for local Super Bowl festivities, including other local cities in San Francisco Bay Area for local activities.
Many Super Bowl 50 accommodations within the hosting city is through an administrative planning process led by Peter Albert, SFMTA Planning Manager. The Super Bowl 50 Committee members provided SFMTA and CAC members the complexities of how transportation will become during planning. All agencies will work closely with SFMTA regarding muni services and other transportation needs during upcoming Super Bowl 50 public transportation.
