The Palo Alto based car company has been constructing its battery manufacturing site in Sparks, Nevada with future optimism. The Gigafactory development site is officially open and costing amount of $5 billion for batteries to keep Tesla cars environmentally safe. The Tesla Motors and manufacturing partnerships will produce battery cells and lithiumion batteries with hopes to reduce the battery costing amounts in 2018. The factory is approximately 14% complete and about 10 million square feet thereafter full completion, and becoming one of the biggest building in the world. Recently, a Tesla car owner died while operating his vehicle in "autopilot" mode and leading into a federal investigation. The NTSB (National Transportation Safety Board) provided a preliminary report sharing the driver was speeding and hitting the side of a tractor.
