During the Fall of 2015 a new FasTrak Flex methodical tool will be implemented on Highway I-580 to ease traffic congestion along the roadway. This new tool can be purchased the same process like the current FasTrak device used by drivers, including a switchable monitoring access for number of passengers in a vehicle. This new mechanism will be used by drivers when using Highway 580 express lanes during commute hours and awarding carpooling passengers. CHP (California Highway Patrol) officers will monitor this roadway procedural process as well to avoid any violators using express lanes inappropriately. Other single car occupancy vehicles can use the same lanes but have to pay the toll fees for accessibility along the freeway.
