The Municipal Transportation Agency of San Francisco has formalized an informal regarding the accommodation for Sunday devotees on city streets as the illegal parking.
Each Weekend, the Dolores Street one of the thoroughfares, which organize the religious favor struck with parking regulations.
From years, the Dolores street used to get blocked by the various class of people such as Churchgoers, synagogue-goers, shoppers and others and their irrelevant parking.
The Municipal Transportation Agency of San Francisco staffed with a number of enforcement officers on weekends, to issue tickets if they ever receive any complaint.
The last May meeting the SFMTA assemble the Guerrero/Dolores Median Parking Policy Advisory Committee and religious leaders, and various other personalities of the area and investigate the issue. And at the end, the council voted 4-3 against any foster normal parking.
Further, Zitrin cited an online survey which found that 74 percent of residents supported a full ban on median parking whereas 95 percent of worshippers are against it. The SFMTA is constantly working on this matter to improve it nearby Guerrero Street.
Knox White said that if this plan gets approved then it would be use as a blueprint to combat median parking for the whole city. The process of working with different stakeholders is a solid model that could be used on future projects.
He also said that he expects to have a final proposal for the Dolores Street pilot back before the Board within six months if the Board of Directors approves it on Tuesday.
