The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) local traffic projects will plan more changes to avoid pedestrian fatalities. Because of the latest pedestrian fatality of an elderly person hit by a Paratransit bus last month, SFMTA plans to make some improvement safety changes aligned with traffic. The Walk SF pedestrian advocacy group is working closely with city administrators for more changes to protect pedestrians.

The people will have a chance to ride in new BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) trains during the opening for extension lines in Contra Costa County, California. The new BART trains arrived yesterday with a celebration on hand with BART administrators and elected officials. The extension train project is under construction and possibly open for operation ahead of scheduling. The BART extension project costs $525 million and expects to have 5,600 passengers onboard during the opening year.

Transportation in the future will be different in San Francisco because of a subway transit system under construction. Some local residents are displaced because of the construction project for the future of subway trains going into Chinatown. Approximately 14 household families are displaced and fortunately the city is helping with housing for all displaced families. The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) Board of Directors approved the rental subsidy for displaced families from $28,188 to $39,744.

Traveling within San Francisco Bay Area can become problematic during air flights and ground transportation with traffic congestion. Including fare increase for transit buses, Golden Gate Bridge tolls, and ferry services for commuters and working class people effective this Friday. This fare increase approach includes one-way fares for ferry service commuter using Clipper cards at Larkspur and Sausalito ferry stations. Carpool and Fastrak vehicles will also have to pay increasing toll fees while crossing across the bridge.

Part of the strategy is having open house sessions for communities to envision the future of transportation for people. Some transportation systems within San Francisco Bay Area are going through changes for improvement services. AC Transit system implemented it's AC Go transit changes yesterday, for some bus service lines to make it more frequent for passengers. These improvement changes will add more transit buses to make it more connected with BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) services more frequently on weekends as necessary. The San Francisco Bicycle Coalition is not feeling good about the infrastructure's failure killing more bicyclists including two killed yesterday in San Francisco, California. The two cyclists were killed several hours from each other and upsetting bicycle coalition members. Because the bicyclists hit-and-run by vehicles can be avoided with with preventative actions by local police officers. The 2014 ratified Vision Zero policy includes prevention by enforcement of traffic controls with San Francisco.

The airplane flights within San Francisco Bay Area has become more and more problems with local residents because of ongoing noise from airplanes. The FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) has approved new flight paths for SurfAir flights, and sending more flights over the bay for noise reduction. The SurfAir PC-12 airplanes fly 23 airplanes to San Carlos Airport on a daily basis and creating more airplane noise for Atherton residents, Palo Alto, etc. The new ratified flight plan for SurfAir flights will become effective on July 5, 2016, and local residents are happy about the changes.
