The Golden State Warriors basketball team makes a historical step of taking BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) across the bay after a Thanksgiving charity event in San Francisco. One BART rider said, "it's great to see them ride with us because they are part of the community team." BART commuters and Warrior fans riding BART didn't know until realizing those guys are wearing Warrior basketball gears.

The City of Richmond is finding out more dangerous elements regarding crude-oil deliveries along railways within their city neighborhoods. A lot of Richmond neighborhoods and schools will be impacted when the train delivering crude-oil spills it endangering environmental areas including local families and children. The city officials and attorney are encouraging BAAQMD (Bay Area Air Quality Management District) to revoke the operational permit on transporting crude-oil by train along Richmond railways.

The roadways development in local San Francisco Bay Area cities are going through challenging stages, like the El Camino Rapid Transit project in City of Palo Alto and redesigning El Camino Real to save trees in City of Burlingame. Both local cities are requesting alternative development plans avoiding traffic congestion and saving environmental trees during the process.

The state highways and roadways run through local cities in San Francisco Bay Area, and City of Burlingame council members are sharing their concerns with local roadway redesign project for El Camino Real regarding trees removal. The State Transportation Caltrans having a project to redesign and widen El Camino Real intersecting with Floribunda Avenue to avoid traffic congestion and accidents. The City of Burlingame Mayor, Michael Brownrigg, sent a letter to Caltrans addressing their concerns and requesting alternative plans to save trees within the project.

The bicycle movement in San Francisco Bay Area is moving forward with more riders along with friends, coworkers, and families for environmental safety. Unfortunately, bicycles are being stolen as well with alarming rates and the movement comes with new inventions to avoid bike thefts from stealing bicycles. A team of Chile engineering students are introducing the Yerka prototype designed bike with anti-theft device, including how to lock it avoiding people stealing these particular prototype designed bicycles.

The SFCTA (San Francisco County Transportation Authority) completed a recent study about traffic congestion in San Francisco and findings are showing less traffic in current years. The study also shows less cars are now at street intersections during commuting hours, and car speeding is showing increase in moderation levels. Some people are saying that's not possible with all these cars blocking city streets, endangering pedestrians safety and other cars.

The San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge is undergoing new development and pending to close for a Moveable Median Barrier project. It will close January 9, 2015 to January 12, 2015 for the project development to ensure traffic safety and efficiency on the iconic bridge for travelers. The options are Golden Gate Transit, Golden Gate Ferry, and use other bay bridges to cross the bay by personal cars or BART transportation. The east sidewalk section will remain open for pedestrians and bicycles to use during the closure phase of the landmark bridge.

Some of developmental transportation projects in San Francisco Bay Area are moving forward, including ways to support and save our natural environment in the process. The Caltrain transportation system is recruiting for members of a bicycle advisory committee and inviting public representatives to become volunteers on the committee. The advisory committee will serve San Francisco, San Mateo, and Santa Clara counties within regional areas, and committee will work closely with Caltrain for services improvement and other relevant matters.

The San Francisco Bay Area transportation and transit officials are seeking ways and means of support for a pedestrian and bike pathway from Oakland to San Francisco on the bay bridge. The Bay Area Toll Authority committee approved $10 million for the initial process, and looking for more financial support due to increasing cost of the pathway project. The latest project study indicates the developmental project would cost up to $500 million and a consultant have to put together a proposal for the pathway project.

The San Francisco Bay Area bike share program is looking to expand with possible support from MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission) for funding assistance. Other financial support may come from new investment ventures along with fitness, real estate companies, and private investors for the Bike Share Program expansion in eastern San Francisco Bay Area. Bay Area Air Quality Management District administers the program and MTC approved $8.7 million for the program expansion in Oakland, Berkeley, and Emeryville.
