Ford Motor company has launched its bike-sharing project on Wednesday, DEARBORN, San Francisco. According to Dearborn automakers, GoBike of Ford will include 546 stations and around 7,000 bicycles centers by the end of 2018. It’s Ford’s plan to transform itself into a mobility company.
In San Francisco, the Ford company is working with a global leader of bike-sharing technology, Motivate. Ford developed its public-private partnerships with cities around the world in order to grow transportation infrastructure in September.
The vice president of City Solutions and Ford Smart Mobility said, “At Ford, we understand it takes working together with cities to address their unique set of transportation challenges to help reduce congestion. Ford GoBike represents a strong collaboration between Motivate and the communities in the Bay Area, as all parties reinforce their commitment to help the city thrive with more sustainable mobility options like Ford GoBike.”
Also, MoGo has launched a partnership with Detroit which is Henry Ford Heath System & HAP. The project features 430 bicycles at 43 stations in 10 neighborhoods of Detroit. It includes Eastern market along with the downtown new center.
GoBike is San Francisco’s introductory response to accessed number of people riding bikes over the decades. Ford displayed San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency statistics to turn its claims and said its bike usage had increased 184 percent from 2006 to 2015.
