The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) agency is running longer hours during New Year's Eve 2019 until 3 AM on January 1, 2019. The BART agency has ingrained therein extending operational hours during New Year's Eve since 2005 to prevent traffic jams on local roadways. Including an effort to keep drunken drivers off the roads and highways to prevent car accidents and injuries. The BART trains will stop services at 3 AM to prevent any problems on the platforms and restart trains at 8 AM on New Year's Day. The transit officials are encouraging passengers to load their clipper cards ahead of time to avoid any problems with fee payments.
