The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) agency is cracking down on passengers avoiding to pay their fees to ride BART trains within San Francisco Bay Area. The BART police officers issued 36 citations during Tuesday to fee evading violators and trying to cheat their way of not paying to ride the train. The BART reporting staff identified citations issued at San Francisco, Richmond, and Fremont locations between 5 PM and 9 PM. It's an effort to prevent violating passengers from getting a free ride and/or creating unsafe environment for credible fee paying passengers. The BART fee perpetrators will have to pay $250 for each citation of avoiding to pay passenger fees, and police officers also arrested 4 people regarding outstanding criminal warrants.
