The City of Palo Alto council members are now supporting a state legislation to increase taxes for assistance of the Caltrain transit improvement projects. The SB797 (Senate Bill 797) state legislation was revisited by council members thereafter uncertain elements about governance and funding allocation. The majority of council members supported therein state legislation and opposed by two members thereafter final vote and discussions. The two opposing members are hoping VTA (Valley Transportation Authority) governance will change with equal representation. The Caltrain provides transit services from San Jose to San Francisco, and Palo Alto Caltrain station is the busiest for commuters.
