The Alameda CTC (County Transportation Commission) has approved $107 million for Highway I-680 improvement project to hopefully ease traffic in San Francisco Bay Area. The highway Express Lane improvement project is a partnership between Caltrans and Alameda County for construction to begin during early 2018. The project construction will be along Highway I-680 in northern Sunol regional area, and it will widen the existing freeway with express lanes. Including upgrades and modifications for controlled accessibility similar to the other project on Highway I-580 express lanes. The construction project is awarded to Bay Cities Paving and Grading Inc. to start construction for the first project phase.
