The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) will have concrete islands on Taraval Street when approved by Board of Directors. The SFMTA implemented a pilot project for therein street and it appears the project didn't work to fully protect local pedestrians. The SFMTA activated therein pilot project during early part of this year including visual street safety signs warning cars, to caution and/or to stop for pedestrians when boarding the railway train. Therefore, SFMTA board have to make a decision on the initial improvement project to ensure pedestrians are fully protected from cars. The concrete islands will become boarding elements for pedestrians and/or passengers on Taraval Street L-Train line when approved for safety reasoning.
