OAKLAND FIGHTING TRANSPORTING COAL LAWSUIT IN SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA

The City of Oakland is banning transporting coal at the Port of Oakland in 2016 because of local health and environmental concerns. The lawsuit was filed by a local developer regarding a proposed new $250 million shipping terminal project in Oakland for coal transporting activities. The East Bay local developer is calling therein City of Oakland regulation unconstitutional and filed a lawsuit. The developer representatives are sharing therein coal transporting activities will be safe and providing thousands of local jobs. It appears that representatives of the local developer and city are having difference of opinions on the agreement. The court judge has to decide for therein matter and trial proceedings are within next week for the due process procedures.
