The Bay Area Toll Authority unanimously approved to let voters decide because 60% voters will support based on polling results. The bridge tolls will increase $3 within six years period and first $1 increase will take effect next year, and $1 increase during 2022 and $1 increase during 2025. The monetary funding will help with transportation improvement projects within 9 San Francisco Bay Area counties - if approved by voters. The bridge toll increase will not impact therein iconic Golden Gate Bridge tolls because of a different standardized accountable system.
