CALTRAIN RECEIVES ACHIEVEMENT AWARD WITHIN SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA

The Caltrain transit agency has won the Project Achievement Award in transportation for their Los Gatos Creek Bridge Replacement Project. The award was issued by CMAA (Construction Management Association of America) for therein Caltrain's project achievement in Northern California. It recognizes the transit agency professionalism and excellence with the project construction and safety standards. The project was to replace the old bridge and maintaining safety transport for passengers using the railway system and operational standards. The improvement project also protected habitat for the breeding fish within the Los Gatos creek. The Caltrain improvement project costing amount is $20.8 million with 80% of federal funding from FTA (Federal Transit Administration).
