BART INCREASING POLICE PATROLS WITHIN SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA

The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) agency announced the increase for police officers patrol to six days a week and updating security training for employees. The announced security action plan effort is to improve safety measures for passengers and hopefully the BART Board of Directors will approve. The proposed action plan will be reviewed by Board of Directors at their meeting on Thursday, August 9, 2018. The BART administration will implement therein comprehensive safety action plan thereafter board approval to ensure passengers are more safely secured. The action plan will include emergency call boxes on platforms with a direct intercom connection with BART Police Department dispatcher. Including an update for the mobile Watch App for passengers to report crimes and other unlawful activities at BART stations.
