The traffic lanes on Van Ness Avenue in San Francisco will be shifting starting tomorrow on Thursday, August 23, 2018 in both directions. The lanes downtown changing is part of the Van Ness traffic improvement project and overhauling between Lombard and Mission streets. The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) project is shifting lanes to make accessible space during construction. It will extend construction zones on eastern side of Van Ness Avenue and will install sidewalk fencing for pedestrians. The parking space for cars will be limited and colored zones with muni bus stops will be relocated as necessary. The repair crews will replace an old water and sewage system to minimize future problems for emergency situations - visit www.sfmta.com for more information.
