The GGBHTD (Golden Gate Bridge Highway & Transportation District) is closing the south end parking and Vista Point parking this weekend. It's a precautionary approach to avoid crowds during the COVID-19 health pandemic and Shelter In Place order. The iconic Golden Gate Bridge visitors have been limited during therein COVID-19 health emergency since Tuesday, March 17, 2020. The GGBHTD agency is encouraging people to stay home and avoid large crowds, and to avoid COVID-19 transmitting contact. The transit agency staffing has placed visible signage on the Golden Gate Bridge entrance to encourage people for awareness. The bridge security staffing will continue to monitor pedestrians and/or bicyclists to maintain social distancing on the iconic bridge sidewalks - visit www.goldengate.org for more information and updates.
