The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) agency unveils the newly designed fares gate for passengers riding trains in San Francisco Bay Area. The BART new gates for commuting passengers will cost approximately $90 million with 40% savings from the initial estimating cost. The BART Board of Directors approved therein new fares gate design during September 2019 for all BART stations in the Bay Area. The BART Accessibility Task Force tested the new BART fares gate design and having it ADA (Americans Disability Act) accessible as necessary. Hopefully, therein new gates will help prevent people from jumping over the current gates and not paying their passenger fees.
