SAMTRANS LAUNCH NEW PROGRAM IN SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA

The SamTrans transit agency in San Mateo County is launching the Ride Now Taxi Program in West Bay effective Saturday, August 1, 2020. The SamTrans pilot program is to help seniors and people with disabilities service within San Carlos, Redwood City, and North Fair Oaks coverage areas. It's a subsidized pilot program to provide passengers with discount transit fees with affordable same day transportation services, and funded by a federal grant from FTA (Federal Transit Administration). The SamTrans will contract with Serra Yellow Cab to launch therein Ride Now Taxi Program to help seniors and people with disabilities. Because the SamTrans data shows more need for such innovative mobility programs for identified populations in south San Mateo County.
