The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) agency serving San Francisco Bay Area has completed therein transformation of Clipper Cards fare payments. The transit agency successfully completed therein Clipper Cards fare payment for passengers within the BART system during the week of December 7, 2020. The BART agency has been working to protect commuting passengers from therein COVID-19 like other transit agencies with contactless fare payment efforts. The fare payments with Clipper Cards will allow passengers to avoid direct contact with fare gates, and don't have to touch therein fare gates during the process and preventing the spread of COVID-19.
