CALTRAIN TAX MEASURE APPROVED IN SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA

The Caltrain transit agency tax measure has been approved by San Francisco Board of Supervisors for November 3, 2020 elections. The San Mateo County already approved therein tax measure, and San Francisco Board of Supervisors amended therein initiative language to include a governance reform clause. The Santa Clara County will support therein tax measure as long as they are okay with therein initiative amendment, and Caltrain's tax measure has to be approved by all three identified counties to officially have it on the ballot. The Caltrain data survey shows 55% of passengers will continue riding trains thereafter the COVID-19 pandemic, and 72% of riders will continue riding trains to avoid local traffic congestion.
