The BART informational data shows 92 robberies this year were reported in comparison with 110 robberies last year. It also shows aggravated assaults increased from 34 to 43 along with felony arrests increased from 127 to 148 during this year. The BART Police Department recently hired more police officers for assistance to ensure passengers are safe on trains. It's aggressively hiring potential police officers and have 5 officer candidates in the Police Academy for training.
