The MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission) services agency in San Francisco Bay Area has approved three principles for federal funding allocations. The MTC agency Programming and Allocations Committee developed a guiding set of principles to help distribute almost $1.7 Billion federal funding. The federal funding is part of thereby American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, and allocation funding will help transit agencies in the Bay Area. The following three guiding principles: 1) Stabilize and Sustain Transit, 2) Restore and Reimagine Services, and 3) Improve Customer Experience will help restore essential transit services. Including transit services stability with more improvement with healthy, safe, reliable, and affordable services for commuting Bay Area passengers, and MTC services agency is recognizing the need for additional transit services when necessary.
