The MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission) added a new feature to San Francisco Bay Area 511 traveler information system. The new feature is called Alexa with assistance by Amazon's personal assistant to help secure real-time traffic status and transit information. The virtual personal assistant Alexa can provide therein traffic information by accessing it through any Alexa enabled devices including Echo, Dot or Tap. The enabled Alexa device can provide travelers with traffic and/or transit information by going to the 511 SF Bay skill page. The travelers can ask Alexa for departure times using the location stop identification number when the Alexa device is enabled for usage. The drivers can ask Alexa for traffic conditions when traveling within San Francisco Bay Area including road closures, etc. - please visit www.mtc.ca.gov for more information.
