The SFMTA pilot project will construct and install nine electric charging stations for muni electric buses in San Francisco. The SFMTA new electric muni buses will start arriving during the spring season 2021, and start with three electric buses from three different manufacturing companies. The pilot project will provide a testing period for therein electric muni buses to see how it works with local roadways and hills with passengers. The SFMTA transit agency will have valid information to determine the energy-efficiency of thereby battery operated electric muni buses.
