SMART TRAINING PROGRAM WITHIN SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA

The SMART (Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit) train agency in North Bay is investing with an in-house training program in San Francisco Bay Area. The transit agency will provide local people with skills training who are interested in Signal Technician and/or Vehicle Maintenance Technician. The SMART agency will work closely with local colleges to implement such an in-house training program for students. The in-house training program discussions for therein identified training technician positions started during 2016, and the SMART Board of Directors finally agreed for the training program. The SMART agency in-house training program will train students to learn technical skills aligned with Signal Technician and/or Vehicle Maintenance Technician positions.
