TRANSIT IMPROVEMENT PROJECT COSTING MORE IN SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA

The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) muni bus project along Van Ness Avenue is climbing to $21.6 million - more than anticipated. The SFMTA BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) improvement project is to help muni buses run rapidly quicker and efficient. The project contractor, Walsh Construction, has filed claims with the City of San Francisco of $21.6 million for the BRT improvement project. Including time for project delays and city officials are looking to negotiate therein project amounts with the contracting agency. The improvement project will have new center-lane platforms to load and unload passengers with efficiency, and BRT muni buses can provide quicker services along Van Ness Avenue. The SFMTA staffing presented five more months delays and therein improvement project may open sometime during 2020 depending on the weather conditions.
