The FTA (Federal Transit Administration) has approved therein VTA extension project for BART operations within San Francisco Bay Area. The VTA (Valley Transportation Authority) and BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) partnership agencies Phase-II extension received new deadline from FTA. The FTA awarded VTA's Phase-II Extension Project operations for BART trains in Silicon Valley to June 2018 as requested for more development time. The VTA administration is hoping to have therein time to explore more ways and means of feasible tunnels for the six mile extension project. The VTA Board of Directors will approve therein final project design for implementation, and hopefully single or twin tunnel design will be in place accordingly. The VTA staffing is preparing necessary logistical elements for public circulation during the project procedural process.
