The VTA (Valley Transportation Authority) agency in South Bay is taking the lead of human trafficking awareness and training in San Francisco Bay Area. The VTA transit agency participated in a webinar session regarding efforts to combat human trafficking aligned with therein 2020 USDOT Transportation Leaders Against Human Trafficking (TLAHT). The VTA General Manager/CEO, Nuria Fernandez, was a guest speaker and proud of VTA joining the USDOT's (U.S. Department of Transportation) TLAHT leaders pledge to combat human trafficking nationwide and international. The U.S. Transportation Secretary, Elaine Chao, opened therein webinar session and encouraging all transportation industry leaders to join and take action. The VTA transit agency offered human trafficking awareness and training during 2015 aligned with AB2034 (Assembly Bill 2034) state legislation - law takes effect on Friday, January 1, 2021.
