The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) system is being sued by passengers during their unsafe experience on BART trains and attacked situation. A situation of six passengers attacked, threatened, and robbed by teens on BART trains have created an unsafe environment and passengers are filing law suits against BART. The passengers filing law suits are represented by Attorney Paul Justi as their legal representative council. The lawsuit is filed at Alameda County Superior Court, claiming that BART trains and/or local stations are not safety zones for passengers but for criminals.

The month of September is National Rail Safety Month and San Francisco Bay Area transit agencies are educating people about safety matters in the Bay Area. The Caltrain transit agency board has proclaimed September as the local Rail Safety Month and will provide local transit safety education for passengers. The two proposed rail safety education sessions will be held in Burlingame and Palo Alto transit locations and reaching out to commuters.

The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) will repair gearboxes in historical San Francisco cable cars along California Street. The gearboxes repair and maintenance is part of therein Gearbox Rehabilitation Project to improve cable car services. The SFMTA will provide shuttles on Friday, September 22, 2017 until Friday, September 29, 2017 to transport passengers during the improvement project for cable cars on California Street. The cable cars will operate normal hours on Saturday, September 30, 2017 with updated gearboxes on California Street.

The Alaska Airlines and San Francisco Giants baseball team have sealed a transportation partnership deal for seven years within the Bay Area. The Alaska Airlines announced today their partnership business agreement with San Francisco Giants, as an extension of therein previous agreement with Virgin America Airlines. The current sponsorship agreement is basically a continuation of previous business agreement, when Alaska Airlines bought Virgin America Airlines for $2.6 billion.

The Caltrain transit services in San Francisco Bay Area is reducing train horn noises effective Wednesday, September 13, 2017 and become a good neighbor for local residents. The Caltrain engineering operators will limit horn noises when crossing San Bruno, Belmont, and San Carlos train stations. Because therein Caltrain stations have tracks along with platforms separated from the crossing street level. However, the train horn reduction effort of being a good neighbor will not alternate and/or compromise safety standards for people.

The local business merchants in San Francisco is getting $1.45 million funding assistance because of the Central Subway delays. The construction of San Francisco Central Subway going into Chinatown is delayed and impacting local businesses, and San Francisco Mayor, Ed Lee, is offering $1.45 million to local merchants for assistance. The funding assistance will be based on the level of impact for merchants and local businesses will have access to funding range up to $10,000 for assistance.

The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) transportation agency has been serving San Francisco Bay Area in 45 years of dedicated services today on Monday. The BART agency started transporting passengers 45 years ago with unique car designs and now creating challenges for people. There was 19 miles of tracks without a buypass lane and creating delays for passengers, and BART keeps upgrading therein system as necessary. The BART escalators and elevators were built by a German company that is out of business, and repairs have to be customized accordingly to make it work.

The SFO (San Francisco International Airport) has cancelled flights to and from Florida because of Hurricane Irma starting this Friday morning. The meteorologists are estimating Hurricane Irma is a strong storm with recorded impacts along its pathway in the Atlantic Ocean. The stormy hurricane is expected to hit inland Florida over this weekend and people should be prepared including airline travelers. The SFO flight cancellation approach is a safety measure ensuring people are not flying to and from Florida during stormy weather conditions.
