The new parking garage construction for Walnut Creek BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) station is planning to begin Saturday, September 9, 2017 as part of the Walnut Creek Transit Village improvement project. The new parking improvement project is built next to the southern parking lot area to increase overall public parking. Including upgraded bus facilities with new passenger pickup/dropoff locations, improved bike and pedestrian pathways, and new BART police station.

The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) is celebrating 100 years of services "Muni Heritage Weekend" this coming weekend in San Francisco. The SFMTA staffing and San Francisco Railway Museum will share legendary muni vehicles along with vintage muni vehicles on Saturday, September 9, 2017 and Sunday, September 10, 2017. The Muni Heritage Weekend begins at 10 AM to 5 PM to celebrate various centennial bus lines and legendary railway trains.

The City of Palo Alto council members are now supporting a state legislation to increase taxes for assistance of the Caltrain transit improvement projects. The SB797 (Senate Bill 797) state legislation was revisited by council members thereafter uncertain elements about governance and funding allocation. The majority of council members supported therein state legislation and opposed by two members thereafter final vote and discussions. The two opposing members are hoping VTA (Valley Transportation Authority) governance will change with equal representation.

The drivers may find it hard to secure appropriate parking in San Francisco and partly because of people fraudulently using disabled placard for parking. The latest State of California audit released in April identifies most disability applicants for placard lacks proper description for the disabled recipients. Another interesting finding is ten of thousands disabled placards are for dead disabled recipients and/or 100 years of age. The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) administrative system is taking safety steps because of the heat conditions in San Francisco Bay Area. The BART system will reduce its speed for safety precautions to ensure passengers are safe during their commute within the heat wave weather conditions. The BART trains will be reducing speed between 12 noon and 8 PM local PST (Pacific Standard Time) because of the hot weather temperatures. The BART train rail is heat-treated prior to installation and allowing it for thermal expansion and contraction along the line system.

The Bloomberg reports an unidentified source mentioned 17 former Apple engineers joined Zoox Inc. in Menlo Park, California. The Zoox Inc. self-driving car engineers specializing in how to design traditional and autonomous vehicles regrading braking and suspension systematic elements. The engineers were reportedly sidelined when Apple Inc. started to downsize their autonomous vehicle development project. The Apple iconic iPhone system has made its mark in the market and self-driving vehicles along with autonomous operating systems can be challenging. The Zoox Inc.

The increasing car break-ins within San Francisco citywide and auto burglaries increase 28% is getting SFPD (San Francisco Police Department) officers attention. The SFPD issued a report this week identifying 17,970 car break-ins and 13,995 at this time during last year. The North Beach and Mission District area is capturing more attention because of higher car break-in crimes within neighborhoods. The San Francisco Board of Supervisors member Norman Yee, District-7, introduced "Safe Neighborhoods Ordinance" and unfortunately Mayor Ed Lee vetoed it.

The transit services within San Francisco Bay Area during upcoming Labor Day holiday will operate using the Sunday schedule. The VTA (Valley Transportation Authority) transit agency and BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) will be working on infrastructure railways during the holiday weekend. The VTA repairing team will work on the light railway tracks in San Jose, and replace the aging infrastructure railing systems. The railway track repairs will create some interruption with light railway services, and transit buses will be available for passengers as bridging services.

The San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) officers are investigating a suspicious package near Union Square, and impacting transit services in San Francisco this afternoon on Wednesday. The SFPD officers issued a tweet message for BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) and muni regarding police activities on Market and Fourth streets. The SFPD officers crew investigated the scenery area at Powell Street BART station, and shutting down San Francisco Market Street between 4th and 5th streets.

The City of Palo Alto council members are uncertain about supporting a sales tax for Caltrain with state legislation. The Palo Alto Council is putting off their voting support for Caltrain state legislation bill, because of not having a voice on the Caltrain board with a representative. The council members will revisit therein sales tax matter for Caltrain and have a decision before SB797 (Senate Bill 797) state legislation deadline. The Palo Alto Council feels a lack of representation on Caltrain's board and VTA (Valley Transportation Authority).
